Starting January with a Bang!

Hi y'all!  It's been so long but I finally feel like I'm getting things done again!  Over the holiday weekend, I got the last three blocks done for my curved log cabin quilt.  First the brown one...

Then the cream colored one.  It's a bit blurry, please excuse...

And finally the lime green one...

That finished up the blocks for the RSC15 curved log cabins.  I have them joined together now and just need to add borders.  Maybe I'll have it done by the weekend.

Also, I've joined in on the 365 Block Challenge for 2016.  It's one block a day for the year.  She started with some very easy blocks.  Here they are so far...

I'm doing purples as you can see.  The second block in the top row was a bonus block.  These measure 3-1/2".  I love it so far.  It'll be gorgeous.  Here's the finished layout...

It would be very easy to catch up if you want to play along!  Glad to be back here and will share more this week!

Linking up today with Fabric Tuesday at Quilt Story, Freemotion by the River for Linky Tuesday, and Sew Cute Tuesday at Blossom Heart Quilts.

Curved Log Cabins for RSC15

Hey y'all!  When I need some easy, mindless sewing, I stop and make some of these curved log cabin blocks.  They are so simple and I'm able to sew without a lot of thinking.  Here's the Indigo block for August's Rainbow Scrap Challenge (hosted by so scrappy)...

Indigo Curved Log Cabin - RSC15

I love it!  Aren't the colors fantastic?  And here is the one for September...

Orange Curved Log Cabin RSC15

Orange is going to be a stretch for me because I really don't use orange so there aren't a lot of orange scraps in my stash.  Thankfully, I think there are only two blocks in the RSC15 that are orange.

Hope y'all have a wonderfully productive, fun, safe holiday weekend.  Today I'll be linking up with Fort Worth Fabric Studio for Fabric Frenzy and with Can I Get a Whoop Whoop! at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.  Tomorrow I'll link up with so scrappy.  I'm also linking up with Scraptastic Tuesday at Mrs. Sew and Sow.

RSC15 - Curved Log Cabin - Red

Last night I really wanted some easy, relaxed sewing so I decided to do this month's curved log cabin block for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge being hosted over at So Scrappy.  This month's color is red and I had a lot of fun playing with these scraps.  Some of these I can easily date back 12 years...

It feels so good to get them used up!  Here is the layout of all the blocks so far....

There will be a total of 12 of them so it will make a good twin sized quilt.  I really love this one and can't wait to see the finished project.

There is still plenty of time to come link up your leader/ender progress this month.  Just click here and share!

Today I'll be linking up to WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced, and Let's Bee Social at Sew Fresh Quilts.  On Thursday, I'm linking up with My Quilt Infatuation for NTT.

Curved Log Cabin

Hi yall!  I've been away from the blog for a few weeks, dealing with some family issues, but I'm back!!  And how I've missed everyone!  Can you believe I didn't touch a sewing machine for 3 weeks??  But over the last few nights, I was able to buckle down and decided to work on my curved log cabin blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  This month the color is light blue...

And last month was dark green...

Here are the first 6 sets of blocks together...

I am really liking the direction this quilt is taking!  Can't wait to see it done.

Tonight is graduation for my baby so no sewing tonight.  But I have a few finishes to share with you because I did manage to find time on a quilting machine so I'll be back Friday.

Zodiac Stars - Cancer and RSC15

I didn't get a ton of sewing time this weekend, but I did manage to finish up my Zodiac Star for this week and my curved log cabin blocks for this month.  First up, here's the Zodiac Star.  I did Cancer this week...

Zodiac Stars - Cancer
Yesterday, I decided I really needed some brainless sewing so I did my curved log cabin blocks for this month's RSC15, color of purple.

Curved Log Cabin - RSC15

Hi my friends! And thanks for hanging in there.  I'm starting to feel better.  I'm not there yet, but I'm better.  This winter has been terrible on my allergies and then you throw the flue into the mix and I'm down for the count.  I've slowly started sewing again.  The last few days, I whipped up the curved log cabin blocks for this month's color in the Rainbow Scrap Challenge, RSC15.  We're working with yellow this month.

I really love the way this quilt is coming out so far...

The color play is gorgeous.  Each log cabin finishes at 11 inches so the large squares are right at 22 inches.

I am missing my machine time so hopefully I'll be able to make some progress on my elephants tonight.  Hope yall are having a great week!!!

All About the Scraps!

This weekend was all about the scraps, about the scraps, no stash....yeah, I may have heard that song a few times more than I should.  :)  But it was a great weekend for my scraps.  I finished up the "need to" finish projects on Friday night so I was able to spend Saturday playing.  I knew I wanted a couple of more projects for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge so I added in a few.  First up my scrappy Mama Elephants...

Aren't they adorable!  (Wait until you see the babies!  They're all cut out and I've started sewing them too!)

Next up, I wanted to work on a curved log cabin quilt too...

I love the way it's looking already.  Can't wait for March just to add to it a bit.

Then I needed to make a heart for Cassidy's wall at school  A tradition for the spirit groups:  the parents make a heart to decorate the walls the week of Valentine's, which also happens to lead right into the competition weekends.

Yeah, she's my baby.  And also a Senior.  Just a few short month's and I'll be an empty nester!  :(  Not so sure how I feel about that.

So that was my weekend in a nutshell.  What did you work on?  Come see the linkups at Patchwork TimesMonday Makers, BOM's Away, Live a Colorful Life, and Scraps Monday.  And since I didn't finish up my babies last night, we're linking up with Mrs Sew and Sow for Scraptastic Tuesday, Quilt Story for Fabric Tuesday and I have to Say for Show and Tell Tuesday.

And don't forget to stop back by next Tuesday for our monthly linkup for sharing progress on your leaders/enders!!
