Friday Finish!!!

I rarely have anything I feel I can share on Friday Finish days.  I get a lot of tops done but to get them to the longarmer for quilting is something all together different.  But today I get to show you my Friends and Flowers Quilt!!!

I love this one!  It was a mystery quilt I did at the end of last year and managed to get quilted rather quickly.

We are giving it to my daughter's best friend for her graduation gift this weekend.

They are both sure to burst into tears when she gives it to her!!  We love you Mary Kate!!!

Linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts and Quilt Story and Val's Quilting Studio.

Do y'all have something to share this week?

Tuesday Archives!

Val picked two of my favorite things to link up today:  Christmas and Chevrons.  I saw that and immediately went through my pics to hunt these down.  First my chevron quilt:

I love this little quilt.  Several years ago, for my birthday, we went to visit my favorite quilt shop, Creations in Kerrville, Texas.  I walked that store for an hour, petting and ogling fabric before going back around and grabbing these beauties.  I knew exactly what I wanted to make with them.  I came home and started cutting.  At that time, I was using Thangles and it took a lot to get these together.  But I'm so happy with how it turned out.  This lap quilt lives on my sofa and I get to cuddle with it every day.

Next up is my Nutcracker quilt.

I collect nutcrackers.  And years ago, this fabulous nutcracker fabric was put out by Northcott.  I was just starting to quilt at the time but I hunted down every little piece of that fabric line I could.  And I waited.  Then I joined a "happy block" swap and pulled these little guys out.  Everyone sent out 5 squares of fabric to everyone in the swap.  They sewed on a 2" border and then sent them back.

I found this Christmas sheet music fabric at Hobby Lobby and put it all together.  I couldn't find a  picture of it finished but I absolutely love it.  The day after Thanksgiving it comes out of hiding and goes on my bed and stays there until the Christmas decorations come down.

Thanks Val for such a fun link up over at Val's Quilting Studio!!

What do y'all have to share?

Catching up!

Hi everyone!  I took the weekend and just sewed.  I didn't blog.  I didn't go out of the house more than I had to.  I just sewed.  And it was so relaxing!  I really needed a recharge and I got it.

This is what I was working on.  First the large Patchwork Star Blocks for my "Oh My Stars" quilt along.

And the second large block:

Then we have the 6-inch blocks:

And then the 4-inch blocks:

I'm finally making progress!  Each block pattern is being made in 1-2 large blocks, 2-3 medium blocks, and 6 small blocks.  I've completed the first six block patterns (out of 15).  My poor design wall needs an expansion.  Once I do that, I'll take another pic of it all laid out.  It's looking amazing!!

What have y'all been working on???
