NIOSA is here!!

I can't believe it's finally here!  My newest pattern for Moda Bake Shop is live!  I've been dying to show this one to you.  So without further ado, here is NIOSA...

NIOSA

For those of you that aren't familiar with it, NIOSA (N-eye-O-sah) is Night in Old San Antonio.  During Fiesta, I was inspired by all of the bright, fun colors of the piƱatas and cascarones that hail in Spring in San Antonio.  I started playing around with sawtooth stars and came up with these fun, bright blocks.  They remind me of the fun colors of Fiesta on a night sky, thus NIOSA.  Here's a closer look...

NIOSA - Center

This quilt is made with a fabulous fabric line called Good Karma by Stephanie Ryan.  The colors are so deep, so saturated, that it works perfectly for my NIOSA quilt.

NIOSA - Side

The pattern is on Moda in the full/queen size.  If you want it in sizes crib/lap/twin/king, I have listed it in my Etsy store.  And to celebrate my second quilt for Moda, we're doing a 20% discount on all of your purchases through the end of the month!  Just use promo code NIOSA20.

NIOSA - Bench

I hope y'all enjoy this one as much as I do!  Alex has already been campaigning for it.  Who is the perfect match for this quilt for you?  If you make it, I'd love to see it!  Please drop me an email sharing your pics.

Patches and Pinwheels - Leader and Ender Linky Party!

I'm soooo sorry this is so late!  I am running late for everything this morning but I didn't forget you!  Today is the day to share our leader/ender progress.  So as a reminder, here is where I was last month...

Patches and Pinwheels 9-15-15

Looks like I had 48 sets done.  Now here is where I am this month...

Patches and Pinwheels 10-20-15

I'm up to 51 sets.  I have three or four more sitting on my work table waiting for their pairs so I hope to up this quite a bit next month.  I THINK, if I've calculated correctly, that I need 84 sets.  That would make a 72" x 84" without borders.  I'm really loving the layout and colors so I'll be excited to finish this one up.

On Wednesday, I'm linking up with Freshly Pieced for WIP Wednesday.

Now it's your turn!  Grab a button and show us your progress!  Link up below.

Rainbow Scrap Challenge - Row Complete and Brown Started

Happy Columbus Day!  I'm getting a late start on the blog post today because work hasn't heard it's a holiday and it's been busy so far.  I managed to get the orange row completed for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge being hosted by so scrappy...

RSC15 - Orange Row

I just love watching this come together!  So many scraps from so many fun projects.  So much fun!!  And here's the first block for this month...

RSC15 - Interlocked Blocks

The block that so scrappy had used the tri recs ruler to make and I don't have it so I switched it with this on, interlocked squares.  I really like the way this one came out.

Today I'm linking up with Patchwork Times for Design Wall Monday, Cooking Up Quilts for Main Crush Monday, Bits n Bobs for Design Board Monday, and BOM's Away at What A Hoot Quilts.  On Tuesday, I'm linking up with Quilt Story for Fabric Tuesday, with Freemotion by the River for Linky Tuesday, with Blossom Heart Quilts for Sew Cute Tuesday, and with Mrs. Sew and Sow for Scraptastic Tuesday. Then Wednesday with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced and at Sew Fresh Quilts for Let's Bee Social.

Frog Mystery Quilt

In my ongoing attempt to update my finished quilts, I wanted to share this adorable frog mystery quilt.

Frog Mystery Quilt - Full

This was a New Year's Eve mystery quilt from a few years ago.  I couldn't be happier with how it turned out!

Frog Mystery Quilt - Left

I fussy cut the block centers then used the stripes built into the fabric as the first border.

Frog Mystery Quilt - Right

The star points are a gorgeous coral fabric with really pretty swirls.  I love it!

Frog Mystery Quilt - Center

I finished this up for my nephew, Logan.  He's older now and needs a big boy quilt so another one needs to be made...soon!  Here's one more shot of the full quilt...

Today I'll be linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish It Friday, with Fabric Frenzy at Ft. Worth Fabric Studio, and for Can I Get A Whoop Whoop at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.

Rainbow Scrap Challenge - Whirling Blades

Hi y'all!  I got one more block for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge being hosted by so scrappy done last night.  This one is called Whirling Blades...

RSC15 - Whirling Blades

I really like this one.  Mine is backwards because apparently, even looking at a picture, I cannot cut angles the correct direction.  But those fun circles on my background fabric along with the checks and polka dots really make Fred there look like he's celebrating!

I have the setting squares cut and pinned already so I can get right to putting this row together later tonight (hopefully).  I have to go by mom's after work so I can layout the NIOSA quilt (Moda Bakeshop) as I don't have a large enough floor space.

That's it for me today!  I'll be linking up with WIP Wednesday at Freshly Pieced, and Let's Bee Social over at Sew Fresh Quilts.  On Thursday with NTT at My Quilt Infatuation.

Rainbow Scrap Challenge - Twirling Four Patch

So, last night I took a break from working on my Moda Bakeshop project to do some sewing on the RSC15 project being hosted by so scrappy.  This is the Twirling Four Patch...

RSC15 - Twirling Four Patch

This block took way more time to finish than it should have.  I think that the part of moving that is driving me the most crazy is the, "not being able to find anything," thing.  I have another orange block to do then the alternate blocks.

Today I'm linking up with Fabric Tuesday at Quilt Story, Linky Tuesday at Freemotion by the River, and Sew Cute Tuesday at Blossom Heart Quilts.

Starry Eyed Quilt - Noteworthy

Hi y'all!  Here's another quilt I wanted to share with you.  The first time that I saw the Starry Eyed Quilt on Moda Bake Shop, I knew I wanted to make it so I added it to my list of "someday" projects.  Then when Moda put out the Noteworthy fabric line, I knew I had THE fabric for this project.  So, without further ado, here is my version of Starry Eyed...

Starry Eyed - Full

I was visiting my brother and sister-in-law while making this one and my sister-in-law fell in love with it, thus it became my niece's quilt.

Starry Eyed - Left

I love this pattern, the organic way the stars are sewn...

Starry Eyed - Right

The Noteworthy fabric is so pretty here!  I love it so much.  Had to pick up a bit extra for the stash...

Starry Eyed - Close

And here's one more of the full quilt.

Starry Eyed - Noteworthy

I think that I'm going to make this one again.  It was a lot of fun to make and the results are well worth it!

Today I'll be linking up with Crazy Mom Quilts for Finish It Friday, with Fabric Frenzy at Ft. Worth Fabric Studio, and for Can I Get A Whoop Whoop at Confessions of a Fabric Addict.   On Monday with Patchwork Times for Design Wall Monday.
