Keeping Busy

Hi y'all!  Been working hard on a ton of things.  This last weekend, I went up to Ft. Worth and visited my brother and his wonderful family.  I took along the Lil' Red panel and worked with my 3 year old niece to make it this weekend...

She was so proud of herself!  As soon as the doll was done, she laid her down with her pillow and quilt immediately.

It was so much fun to make that with her!  I did get some work done on my projects too.  I finished up the next block for my Project 48 quilt.  Here are the first three blocks together...

And here are the first 25 blocks for the 365 Block Challenge 2016...

I am really loving both of those projects.  The purple blocks are all 3-1/2" and are slowly getting more intricate.  It's a lot of fun.

And then I finished up the last three blocks for the FQS Snapshots QAL.  Here is the slug bug block.  Sorry that it's blurry.

Snapshots - Slug Bug

That block was a bear for me.  It took way too long and my seam ripper was used way too many times.  But after that, things went smoothly.  I made the sailboat block next...

Snapshots - Sailboat

That was a fun block and was so quick to make.  I'm using Miss Kate fabric for this quilt and it is so bright and cheerful.  And the last block is the picnic in the park block...

Snapshots - Picnic Basket

I used leftover fabric from my first bee block to make the pinwheel and it is just too cute!!!  I am going to love this quilt.

Leader/Ender Linky Party - January

Hi yall!  Today's the day for our first linky party for our leaders and enders for 2016.  But first, let me show you what I did yesterday.

The first thing I did was knock out the 365 Block Challenge 2016 block which was a simple 3-1/2" HST.

After I whipped that up, I put the borders on my RSC15 (which I'll show you later this week) then did my cat block for the FQS Snapshots QAL.

I love that block!  Now, onto our linky party.  As a reminder, here is where I was last time we linked up...

Leader Ender December 2015

So that was 51 sets finished.  Now for this month...

Lots of New Projects - Project 48, 365 Block Challenge, and Ray of Hope BOM

I have been busy, busy, busy!  And enjoying every moment of it!  Let me catch you up a little bit.  First up, here are the first 19 blocks in the 365 Block Challenge 2016.

365 Block Challenge 2016 Blocks 1-19

Guys, this has been so much fun so far.  All the blocks measure 3-1/2" for now.  Thus far, I've managed all of the blocks from my scrap bin.  And they have gone together very quickly so they aren't taking more than a half hour to put together.  If you want to play along, there is plenty of time to catch up.

Next is a new quilt along called Project 48.  This one has been a lot of fun too.  Here are the first 2 blocks...

Project 48 Blocks 1&2

Here's a description from the Project 48 web page...

Project 48 is designed to be an epic year long quilt sampler, with four 9” blocks delivered each month in 2016. Each month will focus on a different theme, where Linden will create a traditional style block and Crystal a modern interpretation along with two guest versions.

They are coming one a week and have been pretty easy so far.  And again, I'm loving the way it looks.  You could easily catch up on this one too.

And last, but most certainly not least, I took time this weekend to put together the first block in the Ray of Hope BOM.  It is designed and hosted by Ula Lenz.  She is amazing and designed the Zodiac Stars that I'm working on for my niece.  Here's the January block...

Ray of Hope Block 1

Now, I'm not going to lie, this block took me close to 12 hours.  But it is so freaking pretty!  So worth all of the time.  I love it so so so much!!!  I can hardly wait for the February block.

I've also put together the two quilt tops that I worked on for last years Rainbow Scrap Challenge.  I'm hoping to get good pics of them this week so I can share them with you soon.

Be sure to come back tomorrow to link up for our Leader/Ender Linky Party!  Grab a button and come show us your progress!

My First Bee Block!

Last night was the first really relaxing night of sewing I've had in forever. I listened to an audio book and stitched up a couple of quick blocks. First one is the block for yesterday's 365 Quilt Block Challenge.

My camera battery died so we're dealing with phone pics today.  That was a simple block and it also measures 3-1/2".  Really looking forward to the more fun, detailed blocks but these do make for a quick finish.

Next I worked on my first bee block ever!  I was invited to join the Sew Sweet Bee and our Queen Bee, Jane, asked for a sailboat block from the FQS Snapshots QAL.  She sent us the background fabric and a couple of pieces of Daysail.  I added a few pieces of Miss Kate and whipped up this cutie...

This one is going to be hard to send out.  I love it!  It is too cute!  That's it for today!  What are you up to?  Any new projects started?

Starting January with a Bang!

Hi y'all!  It's been so long but I finally feel like I'm getting things done again!  Over the holiday weekend, I got the last three blocks done for my curved log cabin quilt.  First the brown one...

Then the cream colored one.  It's a bit blurry, please excuse...

And finally the lime green one...

That finished up the blocks for the RSC15 curved log cabins.  I have them joined together now and just need to add borders.  Maybe I'll have it done by the weekend.

Also, I've joined in on the 365 Block Challenge for 2016.  It's one block a day for the year.  She started with some very easy blocks.  Here they are so far...

I'm doing purples as you can see.  The second block in the top row was a bonus block.  These measure 3-1/2".  I love it so far.  It'll be gorgeous.  Here's the finished layout...

It would be very easy to catch up if you want to play along!  Glad to be back here and will share more this week!

Linking up today with Fabric Tuesday at Quilt Story, Freemotion by the River for Linky Tuesday, and Sew Cute Tuesday at Blossom Heart Quilts.
