Guys, this has been so much fun so far. All the blocks measure 3-1/2" for now. Thus far, I've managed all of the blocks from my scrap bin. And they have gone together very quickly so they aren't taking more than a half hour to put together. If you want to play along, there is plenty of time to catch up.
Next is a new quilt along called Project 48. This one has been a lot of fun too. Here are the first 2 blocks...
Here's a description from the Project 48 web page...
Project 48 is designed to be an epic year long quilt sampler, with four 9” blocks delivered each month in 2016. Each month will focus on a different theme, where Linden will create a traditional style block and Crystal a modern interpretation along with two guest versions.
They are coming one a week and have been pretty easy so far. And again, I'm loving the way it looks. You could easily catch up on this one too.
And last, but most certainly not least, I took time this weekend to put together the first block in the Ray of Hope BOM. It is designed and hosted by Ula Lenz. She is amazing and designed the Zodiac Stars that I'm working on for my niece. Here's the January block...
Now, I'm not going to lie, this block took me close to 12 hours. But it is so freaking pretty! So worth all of the time. I love it so so so much!!! I can hardly wait for the February block.
I've also put together the two quilt tops that I worked on for last years Rainbow Scrap Challenge. I'm hoping to get good pics of them this week so I can share them with you soon.
Be sure to come back tomorrow to link up for our Leader/Ender Linky Party! Grab a button and come show us your progress!

Wow Cathy, the Ray of Hope block is beautiful. Can't wait to see the other monthly blocks as you work along. You are so right--the 365 Blocks seem very doable. Too bad I have such a long list of WIPs....

Then when I think it's all good you show that amazing Ray of Hope block. Wow!!! What an awesome in progress quilt show you have going on here! And it's only 2 weeks into the new year!! Can't wait to see more.
ReplyDeleteCathy, I finally had a little time to visit some blogs and it looks like you are on fire for 2016. I love the fabrics you chose for the Project 48 quilt and that big Star that took you several hours is to die for and yes it was worth it!
ReplyDeleteAlso, that sailboat you made for your first bee (a post or two back) is darling. I wouldn't want to let it go either.
Happy sewing in 2016! I hope you get all your quilty dreams competed!

Hi, Cathy! Oh my gosh - I'm glad you linked up at BOMs Away. That Ray of Hope is beautiful!! I love the galleries she's keeping, too. There is no way on earth I can start this before August (too many family event quilts and a wedding dress to make this year), but I had to make a sidebar click-through that I can see to remember to get all the patterns for later!!
ReplyDeleteHi Cathy....I love your quilt blocks....they are such a lovely colour range and really popped when I opened your blog post! I really like the star block too....so very pretty. Thanks for linking up with Bits 'n Bobs for Design Board Monday.
