Union Jack Finish!

As promised, here is the finished top for the Union Jack quilt!!

This is going to be for my daughter's graduation come Spring, 2015.  Her school flag is the Union Jack and she's been watching this progress with a close eye.  The quilt top is paper pieced using the pattern from the January, 2014 issue of McCall's Quilting called, "His Royal Union Jack."

The original pattern called for making 18 blocks.  I opted to make 32 as we wanted a large, bed-sized quilt.  The bright, fun colors of the fabric from Moda's Chance of Flowers line really make this quilt.

I'm so glad to have this giant finished!!  On to my next challenge!

Great Deals on Massdrop

Have y'all heard of Massdrop?  I've fallen totally in love with this site.  They figure out what people want to buy, go to the manufacturer or said product, then work out a good price which they pass on to all of us.  So far, I got a great deal on Aurifil thread and Superior Threads Titanium Needles.  I went looking today and they have more awesome deals and I thought I'd pass them along to all of you.

First, they have another awesome price on Aurifil Thread Collections in neutrals, both by Pat Sloan and by Mark Lipinski.

It is starting at $85.99 for 12 spools but if 50 or more people agree to buy it, the price will drop to $79.99!!  Isn't that amazing???

Another favorite of mine right now is a drop on Cotton + Steel fat quarter towers.

There are several choices on fabric for this one and the base price is $55.99!!!

You should check them out!  I love seeing what new things are available each day.  Enjoy!!

Starlets

Last night I managed to get the first three "starlets" done for the zodiac quilt.

They really went together quite quickly.  I need a total of 32 of them for this quilt so I divided that number by the number of big stars and got 2-3.  I am going to make them to match the big stars as I go to get a nice variety.  Here's a pic of them with the big star that I finished on Tuesday.

I can tell that I'm really going to love this quilt, even if it is intense!!  :)  What are y'all working on?  Hope you have a great week!
