WIP Wednesday - Steam that Seam

I spent time last night working on my Quilter's Garden BOM blocks, Steam that Seam. This is a mystery block swap being hosted by Deana over at Dreamworthy Quilts.  I hate applique but Deana has definitely pushed me to learn and I must say my skills are improving.  Here are the four blocks I finished last night.

I'm keeping this one...

I'm putting this block in the swap...

I'll be keeping this one...

And much to Cassidy's chagrin, I'm swapping this one...

After finishing them up, I couldn't resist pulling down the other rows off the design wall and snapping a pic of everything together so far....

Isn't this just the cutest quilt???  I believe that Deana said it will finish as a queen size which will be perfect for my bed.  I can hardly wait for it to be done!!!

What are y'all working on this week?

Happy Veteran's Day!

Today is Veteran's Day and I just wanted to take time out to thank all of our service men and women for their service.  Our country wouldn't have the freedoms that we enjoy without your sacrifices.

In honor of Veteran's Day, Val is featuring quilts on her Archive Tuesday that honor our Veteran's.  I could think of no better day to share the latest quilt I tested for Le Ann at Persimmon Quilts for her QOV Mysteries

I used two different shades of blue on this one and rotated the colors around a bit, but kept the pattern the same.  Le Ann has an entire page of free mystery quilts that fit the requirements for the Quilt of Valor program.  It's such a worthy cause and Le Ann's quilts are always gorgeous.  Here's another one...

So take a break from the normal sewing, go pick a mystery quilt pattern, and let's do some good work for our Veteran's!!
