Let Them Eat Cake!

After I finished the top for my Jane Austen Family Album Quilt last night, I decided to do the first block in the Snapshots Quilt Along.  For those of you unfamiliar with it, it's a quilt along being hosted by the Fat Quarter Shop to raise money for St. Jude's.  A worthy cause and a fabulous quilt.

This first block is called, "Let Them Eat Cake."  Isn't it adorable??  I pulled out my Miss Kate fabrics by Bonnie and Camille and went to work.  The cutting took more time than the assembly of the block.  The next block isn't due out until the 15th of February so I can get going on my other time sensitive projects tonight.

I'll be linking up with Patchwork Times for Design Wall Monday.

And if you haven't heard, we have a new quilt along going on, the Not So Last Minute Christmas Quilt Along...

Sunday Stash 1/18/15

I was really trying not to get much this week. I knew I had to get a little bit more Kona White for the setting blocks on my Austen Family Album quilt but figured that'd be it.  But that didn't quite work out.  While I was at the quilt shop I decided to get some background fabric to use with my Not So Last Minute Christmas Quilt Along.  I found this gorgeous fabric by Michael Miller, Kiss Dot.

My picture wasn't doing it justice so I pulled this one from online.  It still doesn't show the way the fabric seems to shimmer, but you'd just have to see it.  I got two yards to start with.

Then we have the Kona White, another 2 yards...

Then I happened across some fabric by Cori Dantini.  I love her designs and have to, just have to buy it every time I see something new.  This one is from her new line, Good Company.

They also had the main panel, so I got that one too. Here's one side...

And here's the other...

One yard of each.  So, that's another 6 yards added.  But, I did finish the top for my Austen Family Album Quilt!!!  I'm hoping to be able to get pics of it tomorrow.  That's 10-yards used!!  :)  That will help the numbers a little bit.

In This Week - 6 yards
Used This Week - 10 yards
Total In This Year - 22-3/8 yards
Total Out This Year - 10 yards
Net Used This Year - -12-3/8 yards

Make sure to check out the Not So Last Minute Christmas Quilt Along!

Scrappy Baby Quilt - A Finish!

One more finish to share with you from over Christmas.  This is a very scrappy baby quilt.  All of the block fabrics and the binding were from my scrap box.

Since the blocks were so varied, I used a baby blue fabric for the sashing, also from stash, to make them more cohesive.  I did a diagonal straight line quilting and bound it with more scraps.  It really is the sweetest little thing and my sister in law loved that there were pieces of her other kids quilts used in this one.

And just in case you missed it, we have a new quilt along started, Not So Last Minute Christmas Quilt Along.
