Quilter's Garden - Rows Assembled

Last night I spent some time putting the rows together for my Quilter's Garden quilt.  They went together pretty smoothly except the flower row, third from the bottom.

Quilters Garden

Glad I wasn't the only one that had trouble with that block!  All of the ones I received were too small so I trimmed them all to the same size and added strips to the ends of the row.  I brought the rows to the office this morning to lay them out and see what order to put them in.  I think this layout works well.  But I am thinking about adding some sashing rows here and there.  We'll see.  But so far, I really love this quilt!!!  Thanks again Deana for such a fun quilt pattern and swap!

Leader/Ender Linky Party!

I've had a slow start today, but here it is! This month's link up for showing off our leader/ender projects!  You'll remember that I'm working on my version of Patches and Pinwheels.  Here's where I stood last month...

And this month...

Looks like I've only gotten two more sets completed, but I do have a whole bunch of parts on my sewing table so next month should show quite a jump.  It's your turn!  Grab a button, show off how far you've gotten, and link up!

Paris Quilt - Center Completed

Yay!! I managed to get the center of the Paris quilt top completed last night!!

Paris Quilt

To be honest, I wasn't sure I was gonna like this one.  I loved the design but it looked really busy when I started assembling it.  But now....love!!  Here's some closeups...

Paris Quilt

The Paris scenes, Eiffel Towers, so much fun!

Paris Quilt

Cassidy liked the red in the corners so that's where they'll live.  I love that little pop of color that red adds...

And....I just had to add paisley!  Cassidy hates paisley, but I love it so it gets added anywhere I can manage it.  And come on....this paisley seems to fit the Paris quilt perfectly!

Paris Quilt

Sigh....I adore this quilt.  I think I'll add just a thin purple border to finish it off then bind it with the scraps from the center.  I'm going to be writing this one up into a pattern.  Speaking of which....I'll be giving away a free copy of the pattern!  All you have to do to enter is help me figure out a name for it.  I can't keep calling it the Paris quilt.  Leave your comments here and the best name will be emailed a PDF version of the pattern.

Don't forget to stop back by tomorrow to share your leader/ender project progress!!

Paris Quilt Progress

I FINALLY feel like I'm making some good progress on my Paris quilt. I started assembling the blocks last night.  Here's a few of them laid out together...

This is NOT the final layout (I know things are upside down).  I just wanted to get a feel for the pattern and how it will look finished.   Cassidy loves it and I must say it's growing on me.  And Cass loves big quilts so this one will be pretty huge!

I can't keep calling this the Paris quilt.  I'm writing this one up into my first pattern and I need a name! :)  So....I thought I'd get all of you involved.  Leave me a comment with your name suggestions and if I use yours, you'll get a free PDF copy of the pattern!  I can't wait to see what yall come up with!

And don't forget to come by next Tuesday and link up your leader/ender projects!  Let's see how far you've gotten in the last month!

Paris Quilt Update

I know this may not look like much, but this weekend, I finally finished up the first step to my Paris themed quilt.  There are 210 pinwheel blocks here...

The good news is that now the quilt assembly should be pretty quick.  We'll see how far I can get today.

Zodiac Stars - Halfway Point

Today I thought I'd show you the progress so far on the Zodiac Quilt that I'm making for my niece's graduation.  Here are the first six large stars and the angel...

And here are all the blocks laid out together so far.  The angel will actually end up in one of the corners with the Tardis in the middle.

Zodiac Stars - Halfway Point

I love this quilt so much so far!!!  I'll have three more of the little stars done tonight.  So much detailed paper piecing in this one but it will be so worth it when it's finished.

Trimming HST's - Paris Quilt

I had a pretty good weekend, mostly spent with friends.  When I wasn't with my friends, I was trimming up those HST's for the Paris quilt...

Paris Quilt - Trimming HST's

Those 800+ HST's aren't going to trim themselves!  Actually, considering they have been a back-burner project, they are amazingly almost done so I can start sewing with them.  What did you work on this weekend?

Not So Last Minute Christmas Quilt Along - Star of Bethlehem

I cannot believe it is May already!  This year is seriously flying by.  And May means we are working on the Star of Bethlehem block for our Not So Last Minute Christmas Quilt Along!!  I don't know about you, but I've been looking forward to this block.  It is so pretty!  Here is Julianna's version of the block....

Don't you just love the shooting star effect?  Julianna is seriously so talented.  I'm so happy she's letting us do this quilt along!!  So here's the link to Julianna's original post for the block and here's a link to the pattern.  Don't forget to turn off the scaling.  I'll see you on the last day of the month for our link up!

Speaking of which, here's the link for our April link up.  Grab a button!  We've only done 4 blocks so far so definitely time to join in.
