Yes, I had another very productive week last week. I finished up both of the quilt tops that I was making for Free Spirit. And I managed to keep up with all of my quilt alongs. First, the blocks for the 365 Quilt Challenge.
That quilt is going to be simply amazing. I also did my block for the Adventurously Epic Sampler. I decided to add the 4-patch cornerstone for the settings and got them added to all the blocks I've made so far.
Isn't it gorgeous!! I'm absolutely loving everything about this quilt along. Saturday, Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts released the next blocks for her Have a Jolly Christmas Quilt Along. I need two of the mitten blocks for my layout.
I love, love, love the fabrics and the layout I've decided on. It'll be almost Christmas before it's done, but oh my! Love!!
Sunday was the next day for the 52 Weeks with the Quilter's Planner Quilt Along. This block (on the left) took a while, but was so worth the effort. The block on the right is from Project 48 and I'm adding a border to make them big enough to go in the same quilt.
Along the way, I also got some more blocks finished for the Stargyle Quilt as leaders/enders.
I decided on the sashing last night and am adding it this week as I make my other projects. Not bad for one week! :)

Stargyle Quilt Progress
How was your week? I spent my week working on a few projects for Westminster/Free Spirit Fabrics, but managed to keep up with my quilt alongs as I went. The 365 Quilt Challenge blocks have still been pretty simple...
I'm going to love that quilt. Speaking of love....this Adventurously Epic Sampler quilt is going to be fabulous!! Here's the block from last week...
The silver highlights?!? I know it's going to take a while to finish (2 years) but I'm already really enjoying it and know this will look fantastic on my bed! :)
Yesterday, I did my block for the 52 Weeks with the Quilter's Planner being hosted by Gnome Angel. If you're making this block, there are a few things to keep in mind:
I really like how it turned out.
And, in between all the rest of my sewing this week, I got another 15 stars put together for the Stargyle Quilt!
The rest of the blocks are pinned and next to the sewing machine to continue their role as leaders/enders.
Hopefully I'll be able to share my project for Free Spirit soon. I'm really excited about it. :)

Yesterday, I did my block for the 52 Weeks with the Quilter's Planner being hosted by Gnome Angel. If you're making this block, there are a few things to keep in mind:
- The subcut directions for white state 2-1/4" squares and 2-1/2" squares. But you're subcutting from a 1-1/2" strip so the squares needs to be disregarded. They'll be rectangles.
- Also in the same section, the 1-1/2" x 2-1/4" is wrong. They should be 1-1/2" x 2".
- Watch your 1/4" seams. There are, what, 10 seams in a row? If they are off, even by a little, you'll be having trouble when joining them.
I really like how it turned out.

Two UFO's Finished!
That's right! I finished up two UFO's over the last week! The weather hasn't been cooperating this weekend though so the good pics will have to wait, but here's a sneak peek. First, I met my January goal and finished up the Ugly Christmas Sweaters Quilt, designed and hosted by Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts.
I'm so excited about it! I cannot wait to get it quilted and use it next Christmas! Then I went back to my UFO stack and found I was very close to finishing up this baby quilt that is destined for the NICU babies at the local hospital. The pattern is "Framed" and is by Camille Roskelley in her book, Simply Retro.
I have two more of those cut out and ready to whip together. They'll be next in the UFO stack to finish up.
I also stayed up to date on my quilt alongs (thank goodness!). First, this year's 365 Quilt Challenge.
I love this umbrella block. It's for my Adventurously Epic Sampler. This pic captures some of the silver in the fabrics! :)
I have four more blocks done for the Stargyle quilt which is working as my leaders/enders project.
Lorna, at Sew Fresh Quilts, started a new quilt along, Have a Jolly Little Christmas. The first block was released Saturday. I got into EQ7 and made a plan then made up these blocks.
And lastly, yesterday's block for the 52 Weeks with the Quilter's Planner hosted by Gnome Angel. This block was designed by Cassandra Beaver and to be quite honest, I was dreading it. But the instructions were well written so it went together relatively easily. Here's the Sand Dollar Star.
Yup! It was another very busy week. This week, I have some sewing to do for Free Spirit (yay!) but I'm going to try to keep up with the quilt alongs. Wish me luck!

New Year Week 2
I cannot believe we are already through the first full week of the new year! Did you make progress on your goals? I sure did. I got so so much done this week. Let me show you.
First, I got all of my blocks done for the 365 Block Challenge.
I also found a new quilt along (as if I needed another one). This is a new paper pieced block of the week called the Adventurously Epic Sampler. Here's the first block:
During all of this sewing, I managed to finish these blocks for the Stargyle Quilt, designed and hosted by Brenda at Just a Bit Frayed. It's been relegated to my leader/ender project.
I also got my Sew Sweet Bee block done. I decided to make two of each one and keep one for myself to make a Bee Yearbook quilt. This is the Rolling Stone block from Fat Quarter Shop.
Pat Sloan is running a new mystery for 2017, the Children's Library Mystery. This is the first block. I've decided to use a fat quarter pack of the Mini Fun Fair by Melly and Me for Ella Blue Fabrics.
Next up is this week's block for the 52 Week's with the Quilter's Planner 2017 hosted by Gnome Angel. This block is Doves in the Daylight by Michelle Bartholomew. The block on the right is a block from the Project 48 with the borders added to fit this new quilt.
I ALSO (told you I got a lot done) finished up ALL of the blocks for the Ugly Christmas Sweaters quilt that was designed and hosted by Sew Fresh Quilts. I got the sashing put on all of the blocks that I finished this week. I am seriously gonna love this quilt!
And last, but certainly not least, I made the test blocks for my new pattern, Over the Rainbow. I love this so very much! I used the new fabric Nordic Stitches by Northern Quilts for Moda.
This week, I hope to keep up on my quilt alongs, get the top done for the Ugly Christmas Sweaters, and to get the first step done for the rest of the blocks for the Over the Rainbow quilt. What about you?
Today I'll be linking up with Show & Tell Monday at Bambi's, Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times, Main Crush Monday at Cooking Up Quilts, Oh Scrap!, Moving It Forward at Em's Scrapbag, and Monday Making at Love Laugh Quilt. Happy New Year 2017!
Hi all! Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season. Mine was full of family and spending time with my kids. And....preparing for the new year. I have a lot of plans and a lot of goals and I'm hoping that y'all will help me stay accountable!
First off, I'm doing the 365 Block Challenge again in 2017. I started it last year but when I got really sick last summer I fell very behind. This year, I'm making another colorway, this one for my brother, and when I get to the point that I stopped last year, I'll be making 2 a day. Here are the blocks thus far...
My sister has come back to quilting and is doing the 365 Challenge too. It'll be fun to watch her version come along.
I've also decided to do the 52 Weeks with the Quilter's Planner being hosted by Gnome Angel. Really praying the first block isn't a sign of what is to come because it was a booger.
I knew that I wouldn't get back to the Project 48 quilt so I'm joining the blocks I made for it with the ones from this challenge. I'll just add a border to each block to increase it's size. The one on the left is the new challenge block and the one on the right had the border added.
My first goal for January is to finish up the top for the Ugly Christmas Sweaters QAL that was designed and hosted by Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts. I make one block that she designed then follow it up with one block using random Christmas fabric in the center.
I only have 8 more blocks to go so this should be an easy one to finish up.
My last goal for January is to write up the pattern for my newest quilt, "Chris Cross Applesauce." I made it for an Instagram challenge and can't wait to share it with you!
What are you working on for the new year? Any special goals? I'd love to hear. This week, I'm linking up with: Show and Tell Monday with Bambi, Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times, Main Crush Monday at What a Hoot Quilts, Monday Making at Love Laugh Quilt, Linky Tuesday at Freemotion by the River, and Val's Quilting Studio for Tuesday Archives. Let's Bee Social at Sew Fresh Quilts, Midweek Makers at Quilt Fabrication, and WOW at Esther's Quilting Blog.
