It's funny how putting these weekly updates up on the blog really makes me feel better about my accomplishments each week. The first week of February (!!) has come and gone and I had a migraine for 4 days of that, struggling to get to the sewing room and I was feeling pretty low about not getting as much done as I wanted to. But this morning I take pics of everything I did and feel much better! I got WAY more done than I thought.
Let's start with the blocks for the 365 Quilt Challenge. I love that all of these blocks so far have been out of my scrap bin.
A few of those were pretty detailed and took a lot of time but there were several easy ones that helped a lot.
Next up is last week's block for the Adventurously Epic Sampler. Thankfully, this one was before my migraine started. These blocks are so pretty!!
As it was the beginning of a new month, a lot of monthly blocks came out. Like this month's block for the Children's Library Mystery.
I'm loving the fabrics in that one. Too bad it'll take a whole year to get it finished. I also did the bee blocks for my Sew Sweet Bee sister, A Quilting Sheep, her design called Friendship Love.
I make one block to send and one to keep for a Bee Yearbook Quilt at the end of the year. I love that block. So cute and simple! I also went ahead and tested the one I think I'm choosing for my month in March. It's called First Kiss by Podunk Pretties.
Isn't it sweet?!? I love her designs so much and can't wait to play with these blocks more. Also before the migraine hit, thankfully, the first block for the new Release the Kraken BOM by Quarter Inch of Quirk came out. I fell in love with the design and couldn't resist joining in.
Can you say "OMG!!"? I was squealing when I finished these pretties. I've been saving a fat quarter stack of Horizon by Kate Spain and this is the perfect project for it. Love!!!
I also got the first month's blocks in the mail for Fig Tree's new mystery, Nantucket Seaside. Here are the blocks so far...
I love the fabrics in this and can't wait to add some Coney Island to the mix. Love!!!
Next up are the blocks for this week's 52 Week's with the Quilter's Planner, hosted by Gnome Angel. The block on the left is the block for the week, the block on the right is leftover from Project 48 and being framed to go with this quilt.
That finished up the blocks for this week. I also put the blocks together for another NICU quilt. This is another one using the Framed pattern in Simply Retro.
And lastly, I put together my bee blocks from last year. I asked for the Star Surround block by Happy Quilting.
So, as you can see, I wasn't as "unproductive" as I felt!! :)

New Year Week 2
I cannot believe we are already through the first full week of the new year! Did you make progress on your goals? I sure did. I got so so much done this week. Let me show you.
First, I got all of my blocks done for the 365 Block Challenge.
I also found a new quilt along (as if I needed another one). This is a new paper pieced block of the week called the Adventurously Epic Sampler. Here's the first block:
During all of this sewing, I managed to finish these blocks for the Stargyle Quilt, designed and hosted by Brenda at Just a Bit Frayed. It's been relegated to my leader/ender project.
I also got my Sew Sweet Bee block done. I decided to make two of each one and keep one for myself to make a Bee Yearbook quilt. This is the Rolling Stone block from Fat Quarter Shop.
Pat Sloan is running a new mystery for 2017, the Children's Library Mystery. This is the first block. I've decided to use a fat quarter pack of the Mini Fun Fair by Melly and Me for Ella Blue Fabrics.
Next up is this week's block for the 52 Week's with the Quilter's Planner 2017 hosted by Gnome Angel. This block is Doves in the Daylight by Michelle Bartholomew. The block on the right is a block from the Project 48 with the borders added to fit this new quilt.
I ALSO (told you I got a lot done) finished up ALL of the blocks for the Ugly Christmas Sweaters quilt that was designed and hosted by Sew Fresh Quilts. I got the sashing put on all of the blocks that I finished this week. I am seriously gonna love this quilt!
And last, but certainly not least, I made the test blocks for my new pattern, Over the Rainbow. I love this so very much! I used the new fabric Nordic Stitches by Northern Quilts for Moda.
This week, I hope to keep up on my quilt alongs, get the top done for the Ugly Christmas Sweaters, and to get the first step done for the rest of the blocks for the Over the Rainbow quilt. What about you?

Sew Sweet Bee Blocks
Hi friends!! It's been so very long. I finally got things settled down enough to get back into my sewing room! I was hesitant, even a bit nervous, to start up again, but it's been so calming and relaxing. Exactly what the doctor ordered.
The first order of business was catching up on my Sew Sweet Bee blocks. These ladies have been more than a little patient with me (God bless them!) and I totally needed to get them done ASAP!
The first block is for Kathy and she wanted the Honey Bee block. She referred us over to Why Not Sew? for her tutorial and pretty much let us choose our own fabrics. She wants to do the actual sewing of the applique so all I had to do was fuse it down (thank goodness!).
That one went together very quickly, so it was on to the next block. Gracey wanted the Colorado Beauty block with a controlled scrappy look.
Such a fun block! Next up is Amy and she asked for the Rising Star. She sent us the pattern in the email so I can't link up but it is just gorgeous!
My new friend Missy let us choose a cake block to make. I had such fun on the FQS Snapshots quilt that I immediately went and pulled that pattern to work. And OMG! I so love the way it turned out! I really think I may have to make one like it for myself.
And last but not least, Peggy wanted a disappearing nine patch with Bonnie and Camille fabrics. Luckily, I had some leftover from making my aforementioned Snapshots quilt so it was pretty easy to get to.
Such a fun weekend of sewing and so nice to get back in the swing of things. I've missed y'all terribly. I can't wait to start seeing what y'all have been up to!

February Sew Sweet Bee Block and Ugly Christmas Sweaters Start!
Hi Y'all!!! I kept myself pretty darn busy last night after work. First thing I did was my 365 Block Challenge 2016 block...
Those HST's measure 1/2" finished!! For those of you struggling to get these tiny blocks made and looking okay, I highly recommend the 4 at a time HST method. I've had pretty good luck with it so far.
After that one was done, I decided to go ahead and get February's block for my Sew Sweet Bee done. Alicia asked us to make a heart block using Flower Sugar Fabric or the like. I didn't have Flower Sugar, but I remembered picking up some Pam Kitty and dug through my stash and used that.
From her reaction on Instagram last night, I think she likes it! ;) It was a really fun block to make and came together very quickly. I had enough time to get a start on the Ugly Christmas Sweaters QAL that Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts designed/is hosting. Here's the first block...
I don't know about you, but I think it's too flippin' cute to be called ugly. It also went together pretty quickly and I really didn't want to stop making them. I have a feeling this one will end up being a good sized quilt by the time I'm done with it. Are you joining in the quilt along? I hope you do. I'd love to see what you come up with!
Today I'm linking up with Fabric Tuesday at Quilt Story, Linky Tuesday at Feemotion by the River, and Sew Cute Tuesday at Blossom Heart Quilts.

My First Bee Block!
Last night was the first really relaxing night of sewing I've had in forever. I listened to an audio book and stitched up a couple of quick blocks. First one is the block for yesterday's 365 Quilt Block Challenge.
My camera battery died so we're dealing with phone pics today. That was a simple block and it also measures 3-1/2". Really looking forward to the more fun, detailed blocks but these do make for a quick finish.
Next I worked on my first bee block ever! I was invited to join the Sew Sweet Bee and our Queen Bee, Jane, asked for a sailboat block from the FQS Snapshots QAL. She sent us the background fabric and a couple of pieces of Daysail. I added a few pieces of Miss Kate and whipped up this cutie...
This one is going to be hard to send out. I love it! It is too cute! That's it for today! What are you up to? Any new projects started?
