Happy New Year 2017!

Hi all!  Hope you all had a wonderful holiday season.  Mine was full of family and spending time with my kids.  And....preparing for the new year.  I have a lot of plans and a lot of goals and I'm hoping that y'all will help me stay accountable!

First off, I'm doing the 365 Block Challenge again in 2017.  I started it last year but when I got really sick last summer I fell very behind.  This year, I'm making another colorway, this one for my brother, and when I get to the point that I stopped last year, I'll be making 2 a day.  Here are the blocks thus far...

A Quilting Chick - 365 Block Challenge 2017 - Week 1

My sister has come back to quilting and is doing the 365 Challenge too.  It'll be fun to watch her version come along.

I've also decided to do the 52 Weeks with the Quilter's Planner being hosted by Gnome Angel.  Really praying the first block isn't a sign of what is to come because it was a booger.

I knew that I wouldn't get back to the Project 48 quilt so I'm joining the blocks I made for it with the ones from this challenge.  I'll just add a border to each block to increase it's size.  The one on the left is the new challenge block and the one on the right had the border added.

My first goal for January is to finish up the top for the Ugly Christmas Sweaters QAL that was designed and hosted by Lorna at Sew Fresh Quilts.  I make one block that she designed then follow it up with one block using random Christmas fabric in the center.

I only have 8 more blocks to go so this should be an easy one to finish up.

My last goal for January is to write up the pattern for my newest quilt, "Chris Cross Applesauce."  I made it for an Instagram challenge and can't wait to share it with you!

What are you working on for the new year?  Any special goals?  I'd love to hear.  This week, I'm linking up with:  Show and Tell Monday with Bambi, Design Wall Monday at Patchwork Times, Main Crush Monday at What a Hoot Quilts, Monday Making at Love Laugh Quilt, Linky Tuesday at Freemotion by the River, and Val's Quilting Studio for Tuesday Archives. Let's Bee Social at Sew Fresh Quilts, Midweek Makers at Quilt Fabrication, and WOW at Esther's Quilting Blog.

  1. The Ugly Christmas Sweater QAL is on my list to do. My mom is a big knitter and I'm thinking about making a small wall hanging for her knitting room

  2. You have a well-devised list of goals. I started the 365 Day Challenge, but didn't get too far. I see you like blues, as do I. I will be stopping by again. I want to find out about your pattern, Chris-cross Applesauce.

  3. Oohh, a sisterly partner in crime, a good alley in getting your project done! Your ducks are all in order and for those bigger ones, any point can be a finish. Good luck with your pattern!

  5. I still love the ugly sweater quilt, but didn't manage to make any of the blocks. I think it was because I didn't have fabrics that I loved. I will try again this year. Love the block with the tree on the front.

  6. It's good to hear from you and see what's going on at your house. You have some great projects there. I'm still on the fence about the 365 - collecting the tiny patterns, but haven't sewn any yet.
