Friday Finish!!

I had taken a blogging hiatus so I have a few finishes to share.  I'll slowly pull them out and get some pics to catch everyone up on what I've been doing.

First up is this cute little baby quilt...

The pattern is Little Buckaroos by Red Hen Designs.  I hate to admit this, but this was a 10-year old UFO!!  I started this for my brother's first child and he is now way too old for it.  BUT....my other brother's wife is getting ready to have a baby boy next month so I'm finishing it up for him.  I started this little thing way back when I had first started quilting and when I pulled it out, I saw all the little sewing mistakes....and I left them in.  I decided this quilt told a story of the quilter I was 10-years ago.  And I love it!!  Its all made of flannels, the spurs are three-dimensional, and it is too cute for words!!!

Tonight I came home after a rough day at work and just wanted to work with fabrics that I love.  Thus, I made another block for the Union Jack quilt (from McCalls Quilting January/February 2014 issue)...

These are the Chances of Flowers fabrics that I picked up last weekend.  This quilt is gonna be one of my favorites, I can just tell!

So what are y'all working on??

  3. The quilt is too cute, and although you may see all the little mistakes, most likely no one else will. They will love it for what it is a wonderful gift

  4. Hello Cathy,
You have made me feel a whole lot better by owning up to having a 10 year old UFO. So nice that you have another nephew coming along to claim it! It is such a sweet quilt.
Nice Union Jack. I've never managed to whip up enough patriotism to make one myself.
    Love from England, Muv.
