A Quilting Chick: Sunday Stash & The Scrappy Quilter

Fair warning friends: this is a picture heavy post. But I couldn't resist! I decided to make the five minute trek on my lunch break the other day to check out a quilt shop I discovered in the Row by Row Experience. I know, right?!?! The Scrappy Quilter is five minutes away and I didn't know it existed! But now I do and boy am I in trouble! Here's their row (a bit blurry but I was on my lunch break and rushing!).

Gotta love that they incorporated a bluebonnet and a fiesta tiara in the row. And look at some of the projects hanging in the store:

I love that red, white, and blue quilt. And look at this one! The border is gorgeous...

This one is going to be a block of the month starting in September. I really, really like this one and am seriously considering joining in on it...

Now I had every intention of going in, looking around, getting my license plate and going back to work. Let's just say that didn't happen. Those of you that know me will totally understand! I saw this....

And that was it! I had NO choice. You see, I collect nutcrackers. And it's been a while since I've seen a good nutcracker fabric. So two yards of that HAD to come home. Then I saw this...

Oh no! I really don't need a fat quarter tower! But....look what's in it....

Those top two? Yeah, I saw those and they just had to come home with me. Here are the culprits...

The top one they have on the bolt. But....not the bottom one. Ugh! Yes, the tower had to come home. I told my daughter how much I spent and she freaked (she is awesome at helping me not go overboard), but I showed her the first fabric and she stopped in her tracks. She said, "Okay, I understand, you had no choice." See!!!! It was definitely a "have to" situation.

I did get my plate...

But look at this! If you spend more than $50 at The Scrappy Quilter, they give you a fat quarter bag! Not my favorite fabrics but they will work into my stash and we'll see what happens. But how cool is that??
