Progress on Quilters Garden Swap

Just a quick note to update you on what I've been up to.  The last few evenings have been spent making the blocks that I'll need for the Quilter's Garden Swap this month.  We are making quilt shops and each shop has a quilt on display.  These blocks are 3-1/2" right now so they'll finish at 3" in the blocks...

That center star on the Papa's Star block is a little wonky but I still love it!  Two more to go then I'll make the shop blocks themselves.  Hoping to have them done this weekend.

Now my friend Deana, who designed the Quilter's Garden quilt also has a new quilt along starting over at Ft. Worth Fabric Studio.  She designed an awesome quilt called Shimmer Braid.  It's gorgeous!  I have been waiting for this one to start and the fabric requirements came out this week.  I couldn't figure out what fabrics to use for a while but finally this came to me.  So here's my pull....

I have a beautiful script parchment type of fabric that I think I'm going to use for the background fabric.  :)  Doubt I'll get to start sewing it this weekend but I will be starting very soon.  You should go check it out!  It will be so much fun!!!

Speaking of quilt alongs, we have one going on right here at A Quilting Chick!  The Not So Last Minute Christmas Quilt Along.  Come join the fun!!!

  2. This is such a happy little post with all your wonderful fabrics. Those Dear Jane quilts will be perfect for the quilt shops as well. I made that star inside of a star block already and the pieces are SO SMALL! Did you shrink it even smaller?

I can't wait to see your Shimmer Braid quilt when you get some blocks done.

  3. I like the fabrics you pulled. I'm still debating, but I have so many other projects going on. I love the quilt, but I just can't decide!
